TEACHING ROOMS

The Academy of Rock provides large, dedicated teaching rooms for guitar, drums, bass, vocals, electronic music and keyboards. Instruments are provided, or you may choose to bring your own for your lesson. Each room has access to audiovisual equipment and a range of resources to assist with lessons.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

WAITING ROOM

A comfortable lounge is available for students to kick back and relax while they wait for their lesson, or for parents to wait while their children are busy rocking. Music videos and concert footage are screened in the waiting room for your entertainment while you wait. Free copies of 'Rip It Up' music magazine are available to take home. Reasonably priced soft drinks and sweets are availbale to buy from our shop.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

REHEARSAL STUDIO  - Now available

A large rehearsal studio is available for hire at very reasonable rates. The studio has been acoustically treated to provide a comfortable rehearsing environment. A powered mixer, Shure SM58 microphones, mic stands and Pro Studio speakers are set up for your use. Other equipment is available to hire for an additional fee. The studio is available for both casual and permanent bookings, from 6.30pm to 10.30pm week days. Day and evening sessions are also available on weekends. Discount rates apply for permanent bookings.

 

"MUSIC MANIA" ROCK SHOP

The Academy of Rock includes a shop stocking all of your essential musicians' supplies including, strings, sticks, picks, leads, straps, cymbals, drum heads, reeds, plus a great range of guitars, basses and accessories. We are also able to order in  amps, drums, cymbals, keyboards, PA gear, brass and woodwind instruments, effects pedals and other accessories at very competitve prices. If you are looking for anything from a beginner's guitar to a quad box, talk to us first! Our students also get a very generous 10% discount on all our stock when they present their V.I.P. card. LIVE SOUND

We offer a full PA and mixing service for live gigs, for everything from an intimate acoustic set to mammoth stadium rock. Our fantastic sound engineer Stevie will get the best sound for you at Adelaide's best rates.

 

GUITAR SET-UPS & DRUM TUNING

Having your instrument set-up properly can have a huge impact on the quality of your music, as well as how comfortable and easy it is to play your instrument. If you're a guitarist or bassist we can help you get the best possible sounds from your instrument by setting your intonation, neck relief, string action and pick-up spacings. You will be amazed at the difference it can make!  If you're a drummer, are you aware that tuning the drums and correctly tensioning the skins can make a huge difference to your sound as well as how long your drum heads last? Drum tuning is an art, and our drum teachers are skilled at getting the best sound from their drums. We will soon be able to offer a full demo recording package for young bands that includes studio time, engineering, mixing, mastering, and CD printing. We can also arrange artwork for your CD and covers.
